Why a Combination of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy is More Powerful for Treating Insomnia
My approach to treating insomnia combines Strategic Psychotherapy with Clinical Hypnotherapy, targeting both the conscious and unconscious mind. Hypnotherapy guides you into a deeply relaxed state, where your mind becomes more receptive to positive change. In this state, we can uncover and reframe the thoughts, stressors, and habits that contribute to your sleeplessness, replacing them with healthier, more restful patterns.
Strategic Psychotherapy adds a focused, goal-oriented layer to the process. Each session is tailored to address the specific triggers and behaviours behind your insomnia, whether it’s racing thoughts, stress, or long-standing sleep difficulties. We won’t just talk about your struggles—we’ll work to break down the unconscious patterns that keep you stuck in the cycle of sleeplessness. This approach is flexible, allowing us to address your unique challenges.
Research shows that hypnotherapy can be highly effective in improving sleep quality and reducing the stress and anxiety often associated with insomnia. Studies demonstrate that it can help you fall asleep more easily, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling truly rested.
I’ll guide you through techniques to calm your mind, shift your thinking, and help your body relearn how to relax naturally. Over time, you’ll notice improvements in your sleep patterns, enabling you to approach your days with renewed energy and clarity. By combining Strategic Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, we focus on creating lasting change, helping you move past insomnia and rediscover the benefits of restorative, peaceful sleep.

Clinical hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to address problems or concerns in a therapeutic setting.
Strategic hypnotherapy is a powerful technique that combines hypnosis and therapy to help individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals. By accessing the subconscious mind, strategic hypnotherapy allows for deep transformation and personal growth.
Strategic Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that helps individuals understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Through one-on-one sessions with a trained psychotherapist, clients can explore their concerns, gain insights, and develop effective coping strategies. This is different from other forms of psychotherapy as it is focused on the perceptual filters that clients have developed throughout their life. In showing clients how to change those filters, the possibility of change becomes a reality.
Yes, strategic hypnotherapy can be highly effective in alleviating insomnia. By addressing the root causes of these issues at the subconscious level, hypnotherapy can help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and experience a greater sense of calm and control.

Unlike the hypnosis shown on television and in movies, clinical hypnosis does not involved you doing anything against your will. In fact the power of clinical hypnosis and strategic psychotherapy comes from the client making their own choices from the suggestions that the therapist provides.
A Clinical Hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to achieve a state of mental, physical and emotional relaxation. When in this state, the conscious mind (that busy, critical, analytical part of the mind) takes a rest. Hypnosis allows people to tap into the information that lies in the subconscious mind and make positive changes to thought patterns, habits or behaviours that are having a negative mental or physical impact.
The experience of hypnosis will be different for each client. For some, it is a heightened awareness; for others, a profound relaxation. Sometimes the client hears every word the hypnotist says, and other times the voice fades in and out or becomes completely inaudible. In strategic hypnotherapy and clinical hypnosis the client is always free to alter the hypnotic experience or awaken at will.
Hypnosis is a normal, naturally occurring, healthy state of mind. There are no known documented cases of clinical hypnosis resulting in harm. (Analysis of known studies.)
Hypnosis feels like complete physical and mental relaxation. Everyone will experience it differently, based on their own circumstances. It has been likened to daydreaming, or the state of mind just before drifting off to sleep. The hypnotic state of relaxation allows the busy mind to quieten, and the stored resources of the unconscious mind to be accessed and used to create new pathways.
